Royal Sacred, Pure or Full 24
Information from the Siamese Cat Society of NSW
When Siamese kittens of any colour are born, they are blind and pure white, their points deepen in colour as the kitten matures, and the blue eyes open around the seventh day. The Siamese cat should be a beautifully balanced animal with head, ears and neck carried on a long svelte body supported on fine legs and feet with a tail in proportion. The head and profile should be wedge-shaped. The eyes are deep blue, with a alert and intelligent expression.
The Siamese Cat Society only recognises four colours of Siamese being the Seal Point (24), the Blue Point (24A), the Chocolate Point (24B), and the Lilac Point (24C).
The Society's aim is to promote the pure Siamese with NO Colourpoints or Orientals in the cats pedigree.
Seal
The body colour should be a pale fawn with the points a dense, deep seal brown, almost black. (The Points include the facial mask, ears, legs, feet and tail.) The Seal Points tend to darken with age, especially the females that are bred. Young Seals are very flashy and elegant, and they seem to know it. They are more dignified than the other colours.
Blue
Blues come in two shades, a deep slate blue and a lighter silver blue, both acceptable in the show ring. Their bodies should be a pale grey blue, not beige. As with Seals, they may darken with age. Most breeders would agree that they are the most loyal to their owners and extremely affectionate. They will purr just because you meet their eyes. They love to jump on your shoulder and be carried around. Probably they care the most about being physically close to their owners.
Chocolate
These are the dilutes of the Seal Points, that is, the lighter version. The points are the colour of milk chocolate, and the body is ivory and tends to stay light. They are wonderful pets since they are the clowns of the breed and enjoy entertaining you. They are also extremely affectionate and love to kiss and nibble ears. They are probably the most extroverted of the four colours. They want to have fun and will go along with almost anything.
Lilac
These are the dilutes of the Blue Points. Their points are a pale pinkish lilac and their bodies, glacial white. They tend to stay light all of their lives. They have artistic temperaments. At times they are melodramatic. They seem to believe that they are truly superior in beauty and intelligence. Often in a household with other cats they become the instigators of assorted pranks. They do demand your attention and are very slick at getting it.
